Construction coming to MYH at West End in 2017!     The Municipal Yacht Harbor preliminary design

Finally, 12 years post Katrina....

The November 15 MYH board meeting presentation of the Moffat & Nichol preliminary design of the new Municipal Yacht Harbor at West End. The $22 million phase one construction, 75% of the planned project, is scheduled to begin in nine months, August 2017, with initial work focused on targeted dredging and replacing the east marina first, followed by the west, which will be "flipped" with the new main pier located to the east of the harbor admin building. ADA compliant with concrete floating piers and full-length slip fingers, a new eastern bulkhead and two new gated entries with the western arched entry point, east of NOYC across from the fountain and oak tree, designed to resemble the entrance to Armstrong Park, dock boxes at every slip and a SE harbor location designated for the future site of Community Sailing New Orleans are all elements incorporated into the long anticipated redevelopment.
